New Associate Pastor Joshua Knippa
Pastor Josh was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from MacArthur
High School in 1997 and enrolled in Concordia University, Austin, Texas. While in high
school, he was in the marching band and worked part-time at his church and as a copy boy
at a mortgage company.
He majored in Behavioral Sciences and graduated from Concordia-Austin in 2001. He
entered Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in Fall 2001. His vicarage was at First Lutheran
Church, Gainesville, Florida. On vicarage, Pastor Josh worked extensively in campus
ministry at The University of Florida. Upon his return to the seminary, Pastor Josh served as
student body president before graduating in 2005.
Pastor Josh received his first call to St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Wisconsin.
Pastor Josh’s favorite things about being a pastor are preaching the Gospel, teaching the
Bible, and spending time with the families in his congregation.
Pastor Josh enjoys reading, watching and attending sporting events (favorite teams are
Texas A&M Aggies, Dallas Cowboys, Milwaukee Brewers, and Marquette basketball),
movies, talk radio, and Apple products. He also follows current events and culture.
Pastor Josh looks forward to a joyful and faithful ministry here at Faith Lutheran in
Jefferson City.
